Passing parameter not via a filter but using the parameters option in desktop

Hi Experts

is it possible to pass a parameter using the Power BI desktop top Parameters option, via a URL, then publishing the reports to PBI Services and then Use the Embedded URL to change the Parameter from Product A to Product B.

So i did before publishing to PBI Services was to select from Parameter option > Edit Parameter > Select Product A from my list.

Then Publish to Services.

Take Embedded URL and Change the element that relates to the Product filter from A to B...

can this be done..

Using Parameter and not Filters as parameters.

HI @Anonymous,

#1, Power bi desktop does not contain write-back features to edit database records and it does not able to interact with power bi service contents.

#2, You can't extract filter selections and pass to the query table, there are stored in different data levels. (visual records are generated from data model tables, you can't use child level to effect its parent)

#3, Query parameters not able to use on URL filter, it can interact with URL which generates from power bi embed. (please confirm you are work with power bi embedded instead of 'publish to web', for 'publish to web' feature, it does not allow any security settings and url/'query parameters' filters interactions)
