Passing parameter in calculated column

Passing parameter in calculated column

Hello, I have that problem is someone able to solve it?

I have a table of fact like:

User ID

Document

1

A1

2

A2

And a dimension table like this:

User ID

Name User

work due date

1

12/05/2020

2

14/01/2019

3

10/10/2018

I need to count how many users are still working in a x date an how many not.

The problem is that I have to let the user, who is looking and interacting with the dashboard, to choose the x date.

I found that https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Passing-Parameters-in-measures/td-p/208276 but here it seems that you can’t change the parameter directly on the dashboard.

I tried also to create the what if parameter https://docs.microsoft.com/it-it/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-what-if that looks like what I need but it can’t be used in a calculated column and even not in the filter of the DAX calculate in a measure.

Hi , @mafy_20

Although I don’t know your needs very well, it is certain that powebr bi does not support  Passing parameter in calculated column.

It sounds more like a write-back function. If so ,please check the following post.

If I misunderstand .Can you explain your needs in  detail?

Power ON also has a Table Editor that lets you edit SQL Tables in Power BI Service directly. http://poweronbi.com/visual-table-editor/

Contact info is feedback@poweronbi.com

Visual Planner turns Power BI into a fully fledged Goal Seek and Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting solution.

Note: We support Notes at tuple level in the models as well.

@mafy_20 , You can not pass slicer value to the calculated column.

You have a due date, do you have start date.  If only due date on any date we can show what is still due. Start and due will be idle. Then we can use a formula like a current employee in this blog. Else we have only use the end date part of it
