Passing a Parameter from paginated report to PBI Dataset

Hi there, Wondering if anyone can help, or point me in the right direction.

I have a paginated report, using a PBI Dataset as it's dataset. Within the Report I have 4 parameters that filter the data down before the report eventually renders it.

Can someone show me how to pass, a or all, parameters through to the pbi dataset?

I gather a parameter is to be created in the PBIX...   but it's how I map the paginated parameters to the PBIX ones... and of possible how they work.

All help greatly appreciated.

Hi There, Many Thanks for the past replies...  I've gone through that method and while they work, my client, requires the report not to be within Powerbi.   ah well.

Hi @mgtaylor3,

I don't think you can directly pass your parameters to affect power bi datasets.
For the power bi dataset, you can try to parameter the query table connection with the query parameter then you can change on the power bi service side.

Using the Power BI Service Parameters to change connection strings (To possibly change between Dev 
For paginated reports, they didn't include these types of writeback features to affect power bi datasets.
