Parameters Values to display ALL

Hi ,

I need some help with the below request.

I have created a Query parameter with below values , for a column from DB called Event Type

A

Now the user is asking me to have another value where it say's ALL

So when the user Select ALL from the List of Values from parameter it will select all  Values

New List should have

A

Z

ALL

I don't know how to achieve this , can any one of you help me on this ?

Hi @anilp

I have set up a dummy model containing an example of how you could achieve this effect.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/lcv72pty7rrfi6m/ALL%20option.pbix?dl=0

This model has

  • An Event Type table, containing unique Event Types
  • An Event Type Selection table that looks like this:Capture2.PNG

  • A bidirectional relationship between these two tables (on the Event Type columns), so the overall data model is something like this:
    Capture.PNG

  • When you filter on 'Event Type Selection'[Event Type Selection], selecting ALL will create a filter including all Event Types.

Interested to know if this does what you want.

Regards,

Owen

Hi Owen

@OwenAuger  I can't download it for some reason.

Can you please check permissions for the Link

Thanks,

Anil

@anilp

The link should be accessible.

I just tested it in an incognito browser window.

Here is the same link with the "dl=1" option so that it should download immediately on clicking.

@OwenAuger Thanks Owen for your effort and support. i really appreciate your quick turn around on sharing the report, I don't think this is going to work in my cas as i have 3.6 + billion records involved from DB & these are Query level Parameters ..
