Page Level FIlter is Very Slow on Large Dataset with High Cardinality

I have a data set with 14 million rows, and 142,000 unique values in the description field.

I want to do a page level filter where the user can do a search on where the description contains a string.

When I type in a value to filter by (description contains _________ ), it takes 5 minutes to refresh the visuals on the page.

Is there a way to speed this up?

Hi @Anonymous,

Since your data set is huge and you are also doing something like fuzzy query (Contains). It will run slow.

And I'm afraid there's no way to speed this filter up in Power BI. Smiley Sad

Thanks,
Xi Jin.
