POWER BI SERVICE UNABLE TO OPEN EXCEL DATA SET


Hi ,

After I converted required data fieldS from a larger dataset to an excel file  in power bi service , Now I am unable to open power bi service the new excel data set in  after downloading . I need the new excel with specific data to create an additional report in combination to the larger data set .

Hi  @JL-BI ,

 

The table format does not literally make it look like a table, you need to set it to table format.

To make managing and analyzing a group of related data easier, you can turn a range of cells into an Excel table. 

  1. Select a cell within your data.
  2. Select Home Format as Table.
  3. Choose a style for your table.
  4. In the Create Table dialog box, set your cell range.
  5. Mark if your table has headers.
  6. Select OK.

Or you can use the shortcut Ctrl + T to set the table format

The excel file is in table format only . As i am new to this . Can anyone point out the error may be .
