PBIX file size increase

I've noticed that my PBIX files have almost doubled in size after downloading the November desktop update and refreshing the data.  Were the files upgraded or something that would have left them fragmented?

@jcapezzuto

Hello, I just had the same issue...
Did you find a way to solve it ?

Thanks,

Alix

Hi @Aroth no I did not find a solution, but the increased file size only occurred once after that particular upgrade and the file itself still worked correctly.

Are you sure there were no in-model changes that could have caused this?  Sometimes, simply adding a single column to a large table can have this effect if there is a high degree of uniqueness.

You can run some DMV queries against your model to see exactly where the memory is being used.  I find this quite an effective way to optimise PBI desktop model sizes.
