PBI requires exclusive access to an Excel file...WHY?

Why does PBI require exclusive access to an Excel source, when it's a read of the data to load into PBI?

What do you mean with exclusive access to the excel file?

On the reports I have made having the excel file opened on Excel allows me to make some changes and check the data when making the data treatment on PBI. never for any exclusive access.

Can you share a print screen of the error.
