Hey All,
I keep getting an ORA-01013 error when refreshing some complex queries in POWERBI over Oracle DB.
When running the same query in some other SQL programs in the same PC (like PLSQL,TOAD) I get the result after 30 minutes , but still get the result, so I'm sure that it is not a server or client configuration issue.
I'm trying to find out where in POWER BI can I change this setting so I won't get the error.
I found another post that describe an optional solution for an ODBC connection, but what if I wish to work with the native Oracle connection ?
Anyone has knowledge about that ?
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
Just found a solution for that.
Similar to the ODBC timeout configuration there is also a timeout setting for an Oracle connection (with slightly different syntax).
for example to set the timeout for 2 hours :
Source=Oracle.Database(server as text,CommandTimeout=#duration(0,2,0,0)) as table
Yes, you would do this in M-query, typically in one of the first lines
Hi! Where do you apply the settings for changing timeout? Is it M-script for the data source?

To change the timeout you can do in two ways
1. Go and Change in Advance Editor in Power Bi desktop in M-Script or In Applied step in Source by clicking the setting button under that in command timeout section.
where to update the Connection Timeout in PBIX? Check out the below link for screenshot.

I am echoing @anitaberg's question below:
