Hi Guys,
I have an issue with connecting to oracle client data source and would appreciate some help.
I have 2 dashboard that connect to the same oracle data base but different oracle schemas using different oracle user credentials from Power BI Desktop.
In the Oracle Client TNSNAMES I have one alias for the server.
E.g.
Oracle Alias in TNSNAMES.ORA = TGT_MART
Oracle Server Name / SID = ORCSERVERDEV.TGT.IDI.AU
Dashboard 1 needs to connect to TGT_MART.USER_SCHEMA1
Dashboard 1 needs to connect to TGT_MART.USER_SCHEMA2
In PowerBI Get Data Connection Properties for Oracle, PowerBI only recognizes TGT_MART and does not recognize ORCSERVERDEV.TGT.IDI.AU
While connecting to the Oracle Data in PowerBI, how do I assign different data source names for each of the PowerBI Dashboards? Both these Dashboards needs to be published to the Same Power BI Report Server and I am concerned this will cause an issue while refreshing the data on the server.
Hi @rajiv_tarafdar,
Basically, you are using one same Oracle database with different schemas. Right?
As I know, it will not affect the data in different dashboards.
Then if you got any issue on Power BI Report Server, I would suggest you to post your question here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/bd-p/ReportServer. For more professional help.
Thanks,
Xi Jin.
