Oracle DB connection via MS Access DB user prompted to enter credentials

Hello Everyone,

I am connecting to an Oracle DB using MS ACCESS. The PBI dashboard is connected to my Access DB. Since I upgraded to version 2.66 I am having to enter my db credentials over and over again. This is even worse when refreshing the dataset. Is there a solution, ideally I would like to store the credentials in PBI and not have to be asked for it again. I have checked save password in ms access, and I have also added the credentials to PowerBI.

@kesavan ,

Have you solved your issue by now? If you have, could you please help mark the correct answer to finish the thread? Your contribution will be much appreciated.

Hi @v-yuta-msft

No resolution as of yet. I connected powerbi directly to the Oracle db as you suggested and this has not work.

I am running a queries in MS Access, and connecting three of them to Power BI. I am still having to constantly enter the password. For example a data refresh requires me to enter the credentials more than 20 times.

This was not a problem prior to upgrading to 2.58. I read on another thread that others were having a similar issue and that upgrading to 2.66 would solve it. It has not.

@kesavan ,

Couldn't reproduce this issue. However, power bi can connect to Oracle DB directly. I would suggest you to use Oracle connector in power bi desktop.
