Optimize datasets

I have 3 reports (built in Desktop) that - of course - all have their own datasets, but actually containing the same data! Do I have any chance to change this to ONE dataset source (except "create reports from dataset" and rebuilding all visuals and filters and stuff

Hi @wolfgangkb-work ,

Assuming that your three report datasets all contain identical tables with identical field names, I would probably build the tables from your data model(s) as dataflows (if you're not using Direct Query or Live connection). You can then change the query source code in each report to point to the single dataflow version and retain all your visuals and measures etc. You may need to re-do your relationships in each report as you will effectively be changing the source but, on balance, this is probably the way to go so you only have to maintain a single set of source tables rather than three full sets.
