Only report on new data

My first PBI reports are coming up on 1 year old and I don't need to report on data older than that.  Could I go into the query editor and filter dates to only show the last 365 days and would that stop the older data from refreshing and loading?  Trying to keep 1 big report from timing out on refresh

If you mean that achieve the newest data only(don't import the old data again) when refreshing. You can use incremental refresh but you need a premium license. By the way, if you don't have premium license(e.g.: only a pro user), there's also a workaround by using dataflow and ETL tools, please refer to this blog.

However, if you mean to filter the date column, just click the filter, select "after" and input the date one year ago manually.

You could try adding a Date.AddYears column in combination with DateTime.LocalNow with an offset of -1 for comparison purposes, and then remove based on those that, but I don't know if that'd actually improve performance (or if there's a more efficient way to handle this)
