On demand refresh on premises

I have looked around and I cannot find anything on this issue.

I am trying to get on demand data (user request) from a MS sql server to be displayed in powerbi reporting server. Basically the same thing as pressing refresh in desktop mode

import mode only allows scheduled refresh, which might be too much or too little depend on the needs of the user. Direct query runs the same query for as many visuals as there are on the page... not very efficient (less so that I am doing all my joins  in sql).

is there any way to accomplish this? I see that some users are using Flow for the service, but cannot find anything for server version

You can make a simple one-button PowerApp that calls a simple Flow that triggers refresh of the dataset.  Note that depending on your license, you will have a limited number of total refreshes per day.  If desired, you could then add the powerapp visual to your Power BI report so the users could do it from the report itself.

This appears to be for the cloud version. I am asking specifically for on premises server. Flow does not appear to work with the server version

No one has run into this issue before? I'm not talking about refreshing in scheduler

@O_- , you can refresh the dataset manually in the power bi service?

I need the end user to be able to do this, from the report view.

I know that if you go to your refresh schedule, you can run a manual refresh... but pressing the refresh button in the report does not work (for whatever reason, permissions issue? )
