On-Premise SharePoint List Error

I am working with data from an on-premise SharePoint site, and when I try to expand a column as text, I recieve this error message, "DataSource.Error: SharePoint: Request failed: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.
Details:
DataSourceKind=SharePoint".

The column I am trying to expand is a person/group column linking to our company's directory. I have created another report in the past from a similar SharePoint site and did not recieve this error.

Any special characters or anything in that column name? Those tend to be bad and cause problems.

@Greg_Deckler No, the column name is "Project Owner". I have tried to expand the the actual column and selecting the first and last name fields, as well as expanding the field as text column. Both times it returns errors. I know this column was added after the creation of this list. Would the blanks on older items cause this error?
