Object level security giving error when user is part of two groups

Hi Team,

I have a report where i have implemented the OLS with two roles created.

my problem here is, if a user is part of both the roles, its giving the below error.   When i make that user part of only one group then he is able to view the report as intended.

Would you be able to explain me how i can overcome this?

Error in Powerbi Service :

Error in Powerbi Desktop :

Roles - End user and Private User contains DAX function as follows :  [Email] = username()

Hi @Anonymous

Modifying one of the role as:

[USERNAME] = USERPRINCIPALNAME()&&USERPRINCIPALNAME()<>"specific user"

Hi @Anonymous ,

Why not create the third role for these users that have both access for the other two roles?

@v-jayw-msft  Thanks for your response.  Would you mind explaining more about this third role, what dax/condition it should contain, and how to identify them and implementing it etc....

This user list is actually from Active Directory User list. So we arent sure who will be there in both the lists.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You mean you don’t know which users have two roles? In that case, I can't help it either because the method I assume is to at least determine which users have two roles.

@v-jayw-msft, Ok.  Lets assume we know that 2 users are part of both the roles. What would the solution that you are suggesting?

Hi @Anonymous

Modifying one of the role as:

[USERNAME] = USERPRINCIPALNAME()&&USERPRINCIPALNAME()<>"specific user"
