hi, guys.
I'm working on importing data from Oracle. I'm querying from a table with about 12 million records.
The order_date is the varchar(8) and out_date is the date type.
This is the first query:
SELECT *
FROM view_bi_runsheet
WHERE out_date BETWEEN TO_DATE ('2016/11/01', 'yyyy/mm/dd')
AND sysdate
This query caused an ORA-01013 error.
So this is the second query:
SELECT *
FROM (SELECT *
FROM VIEW_BI_RUNSHEET
WHERE TO_NUMBER(ORDER_DATE) >= 20140701
AND TO_NUMBER(ORDER_DATE) < 20150101) od
WHERE od.out_date BETWEEN TO_DATE ('2016/11/01', 'yyyy/mm/dd')
AND TO_DATE ('2018/07/03', 'yyyy/mm/dd')+1
Perhaps the first query was a time out because of a table full scan.
I wonder if I can set a query timeout because I can not touch the server side.
Window environment, ODAC installed and connected to power BI Desktop.
please, explain if you can change the timeout time through tnsnames.org file or any other setting.
p.s An error usually occurs after 25 to 35 minutes of running the query.

Hi @ted_kim,
Maybe you can try to modify your command timeout parameter to work through this issue:
