Number of records limitation

Greetings,

We have a datasource table that includes more that 12,000,000 records and we would like to have PBI report on it. What are the number of record limitation with PBI?

Thank  you,

Speed Depends on your datasource and architecture but if your a pro user the worst case as far as the time it takes to load into the power BI service is 1 million rows per hour.

There is currently no limit on the rows of data you can import into Power BI. There is a 10 gb Per user size limit. For this size of data loading this information into a cube 1st might be a better solution. Currently Power BI only supports direct connection to a tabular cube. This solution will mean that only the data needed to support the actual visual will have to be loaded into Power BI. Also if your using a datasource that is not direct query you may want to think about creating queries/views/tables that only bring in the data that's needed to support your actual reports. Since there is currently no support for dirll-through there's no point in loading all 12m rows if you can avoid it.

Thank you for help.

So is it correct to say:

I can do visualization with 12M recods and the PBI desktop can handle it. but the speed will be very slow?

Sorry but I am not clear with the answer here.

Today, we are getting the error when we try to bind more than 1 million rows with the Power BI report, and it happens with our daily one-time scheduled refresh.

We are using our Web API to get the rows and it takes a couple of minutes to fetch 1+ million rows for the Power BI report but then it fails at the time of binding.

Please suggest how can we bind more than 1 million rows with the Power BI report.

We have more than 100 GBs of data and we want all the reports must build through power bi. Is it possible in power bi to include data through its limit beyond 10 GBs per user?

Hello Piyushj, yes, there is a workaround using workspaces: Instead of sharing dashboards from a personal workspace, you create a workspace via Office 365 - Mail agenda, and publish a report in that workspace. Then add users to this worskpace and they will see it. I strongly recommend both to set the workspace for the members to read only (users can not modify content) and to set row-level security (the settings mentioned above is a prerequisite) if needed, because all users in a particular workspace will see all the reports published there.
