Number filters for type "text"

Hey. So bascially, I have a column which has numbers, but the datatype of it is string. In the databse, I am used to using "greater than" ,"less than" operators on them, since it evaluates alphanumerically. However, In power BI, I haven't found a filter to resolve this problem.

As you can see from the pictures, I want to apply the number filters onto a datatype string.
Note: Even though the column's datatype is text, it has only numbers. However, I would like to continue using it's datatype as text, if possible.

Hi @Anonymous

As tested, when this column is of Text type, it doesn't support a number filter.

You could change the data type in Power BI (Modeling-data type).

What purpose would you like to continue using it's datatype as text?

If possible, you could let me know or post a new one to get help.

Best Regards

Maggie

Thanks for the reply Maggie.

I used the column of numbers as text elsewhere and applied functionalities like append etc. So, I would like to retain it's datatype.

Is there no workaround this problem? At this point, although I don't prefer them since I am new to PBI, any solution with M or DAX would be sufficient too.

Hi @Anonymous

Based on my experience, "append" or some other functions don't need the column to be of Text type, could you show an example of your data which need to transform?

Additionally, refernces are here are regarding "append" or some other functions.
