Normalize Age of Cancelled Accounts by Age of Currently Active Accounts

I have a column with start and end dates of cancelled accounts as well as the number of days between those two dates. I have another table with currently active accounts, the start dates and number of days since start for those accounts. I want to plot, over time, the average age of cancelled accounts. Naturally this is going to trend upwards as the company gets older, especially since were only 4/5 years old. I want to normalize it to look at the average normalized by the age of active accounts but don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
