New user setup with multiple customers.

I have been using Power BI Desktop for a couple of months and created a set of reports which is the same for all my clients but they would only have access to their own data. I plan on creating individual workspaces for each client and publishing to each workspace individually. From what I have read so far, I believe I need to purchase Power BI Pro and any client which I want to provide access to needs Power BI Pro as well. Is this correct?

I want to give access to view only and not have access to the dat tables.

Please advise my best way to proceed with this project.

We're a small company with about 15 customers currently which would need access to viewing thier reports. The data and the .PBIX files add up to no more than 200mb each so my best option seems to be for everyone to get Power BI Pro license.

Now I'm trying to see what they would get when I share reports with them but the emails don't send. Is this still and issue with the email sending or has it been resolved since the discussions in 2019?

Someone please answer this question.

Can I publish reports and send a share e-mail to someone who has Power BI Pro without a gateway or Azure?

Is there a reason why the share e-mails do not send even though it says success?

I'm trying to set this up for some of my customers and there seems to be many (complicated) options when searching for answers on You Tube and Google.

I am also looking for the simplest solution for a small company. I have created some reports, published them to a workspace but am having issues with sending the sharing email with the restrictions. Everyone requiring Power BI Pro is not an issue. For now, I can refresh and publish my data monthly.

Do I have to setup a gateway?

Please advise.

Hi @ConsatSudbury ,

Normally it is as @amitchandak  said. However you may take a look at the document about Power BI Premiun. If you have Premiun license, your clients won't need Pro license when you share report with them.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-premium-what-is#unlimited-content-sharing

@ConsatSudbury , your client needs to have power bi pro. The BI Admin, need to publish and share report. They also need to change the data connection and install gateway and setup power Bi services admin settings.

Also check out for embedded power BI, in case you own data.
