New to this beautiful Power BI world

Hi friends and PBI Gurus

I am a newbie to PowerBI and I am progressing slowly, but I am having some issues at work, where I am doing an internship. My job began three weeks ago, and I am responsible for

Learning the SQL codes in our DW, understanding what it does, and building one power bi report at a time

(I understand what SQL code is doing when I read it, but my SQL knowledge could be better)

I am finding it difficult to understand how to build that.

My questions are

How do I manipulate SQL code into DAX?

I've taken some PowerBI for Beginners courses, but I believe one-on-one training will be more beneficial to me; where can I find an affordable PowerBI coach?

My goal is to become a skilled developer. I would appreciate hearing about any useful tools or courses that have helped others in the past

@MikeMila welcome to the club! There are a lot of beginners to advance free online youtube channels/blogs but I would highly recommend starting with Microsoft Learn Power BI on Microsoft Learn | Microsoft Docs

Pay special attention to data modeling and learn data warehouse techniques. This is a general knowledge that is core for data modeling in Power BI and it is a critical piece in Power BI to develop scalable enterprise solutions. To build a good data model, you need to make sure your data is in good shape and power query is a great tool for that. You need to get the basics rights, ask questions in the community, and follow the best practice and I'm sure in no time you will find yourself in a good place.

All the best!

Hi @MikeMila ,

Welcome! You could learn from this link. The articles introduce some functions that use the same function as SQL in DAX.

You could search it for more related articles.

Search Results from sql to dax - SQLBI

Also you could learn about dax from the official document.

Learn DAX basics in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
