Hello All,
My employer is moving to Power BI. I have been a Tableau user for about 5 years. I expected this to be a like for like switch seeing as they ranked so similarly in the Gartner reports and based on various things that I had read.
But the differences between the two seem so stark. I am trying to rebuild everything I have built up over 4 years on Tableau in Power BI and the early efforts have left me very frustrated and worried that it simply isn't up to the task. I not only used Tableau as a reporting tool but also for cleaning data, joining different datasets, analysis and then for dashboards, themselves - it had so many uses to me.
It doesn't even look like you can connect an excel with a workspace in Power BI, from what I have gathered so far. Seemingly requiring some sort of add-in to excel to do it, if even at all.
I'm not sure that I am even asking anything here other than to find out are there people who have made the move from Tableau? How did you manage it and am I ending up with a much inferior tool once I fully switch over?
All thoughts, opinions, words of encouragement welcome!
Thanks,

@Deepowerbi , There are a few similarities, but the way to do might be a bit different. Most of the time you will able to search for it on google. Transform Data/Edit Query/Power Query is for Data transformation. And it pretty strong.
I would recommond to go through some tutorials.
