To make sure I am on the correct table I clicked on the synopsis (...) right beside the table name I want to create a measure on... but when I did this "New Measure Column Name" = FORMAT( - and when I tried to type the fields in that table or the full name 'Table Name'[Field Name'] nothing appears... But other tables are doing fine...
And by the way if I do a New Column it does detect the fields of that table?
I'm not sure what is going on here... I already deleted the table and reuploaded into PBI but the same thing is happening.

Anytime you create Measures you need to aggregate the columns you want to reference.
What is happenning is - Intellisense is helping you by not letting you select a Column without you aggregating it somehow first!
Look at this example...
Measure with FORMAT = FORMAT ( SUM ( Table[Gross] ) - SUM ( Table[Tax] ) - SUM ( Table[Deductions] ), "Currency" )
When you create a Column because it will be evaluated on every row there's no need for aggregation
(you can of course aggregate also depending on what you want the result to be)
Hope this helps!
Okay I think it's the FORMAT command - it only works for New Column and not for New Measure... WHY? I'm still trying to find out... unless someone from here would like to help explain this.
Thank you.
