I have a table that has data for members in a span format (such as 1/1/18 - 2/28/18) but may have varying characterisitcs that may change during the span. What I want is to be able to summarize the file into a table that has one row per member for each month and identifies the category that member was in on the earliest day of that month.
Ultimately, I want the first table below to be summarized into the second table. The end goal is to be able to build some visuals around monthly active membership.

Hi,
You may refer to my solution in this file. Click on the Data Table in the left hand side panel and then go to the Aggregated data table.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the quick solution!
You are welcome.
There are some fundamental issues with what you are trying to do here. I believe what you are going to have to do is do some type of join operation to get a table of all months in which someone is a member. Don't really have time to play with it right now but that's going to have to be the approach.
