Hi all,
I want to use bubble chart for my use case below. Here is the sample data.
ProducerId | ProducerTitle | ConsumerID | ConsumerTitle | ConsumerArea |
Prod1 | ProdTitle1 | Cons1 | ConsTitle1 | ConsArea1 |
Prod1 | ProdTitle1 | Cons1 | ConsTitle1 | ConsArea2 |
Prod2 | ProdTitle2 | Cons1 | ConsTitle1 | ConsArea3 |
Prod3 | ProdTitle3 | Cons2 | ConsTitle2 | ConsArea4 |
Prod3 | ProdTitle3 | Cons3 | ConsTitle3 | ConsArea5 |
Prod4 | ProdTitle4 | Cons4 | ConsTitle4 | ConsArea6 |
Prod5 | ProdTitle5 | Cons5 | ConsTitle5 | ConsArea7 |
I have this rendered as below using bubble chart.
But what I want is something like below.
Any help is highlt appreciated.
As far as I know it seems that this kind of need still remain unsatisfied.
Honestly I do not understand why.
The possibility to represent (e.g. using the size of circle and different shapes/colors for different measures ) how one or more measures are influenced by two dimensions, in my opinion, is a very usefull tool for every analyst.
I' Hope this kind of visual will become standard element of PowerBI
Hello,
Currently, Dot Plot by MAQ Software accepts measure on Y-axis.
We have added your request to our backlog.
We periodically revisit our published visuals to correct bugs and add enhancements based on user feedback. Once we have an enhancement list set for the next version of this visual, we will let you know on this thread.
If you have an urgent need for this enhancement, please connect to us via our Sales channel.
Also, to improve our Power BI custom visuals support, we have created a community site at https://maqsoftware.zendesk.com Please post your questions on the community site for faster responses from our MAQ Software support team.
Thanks
Thank you rery much. This is a very good news.
I'm not in hurry, so I can wait the new visual having category axis also on "X-axis"
An alternative is to use Charticulator , which can be imported as a custom visual
Attached is a sample PBIX file

@PaulDBrown, Thank you. This seems to per the final answer to the post which can be marked (in my opinion) as solution. Unfortunately I'm not the owner.
Now I'm trying to understand how does it work and to apply to my data.
I don't know if it is a matter of PBI version (I've Version : 2.105.664.0 64-bit (maggio 2022)), but after some initial trials, the buttons "+ Create chart" and "Import template" are now not anymore enabled.
See if this helps. It is how I built the example.
1) Import the Charticulator visual into the report:
2) Setup the Charticulator visual:
3) Open Charticulator and set up the axes:
4) Create the Data point as a "Glyph"
5) Save and return to Desktop
Or before you save....
6) Add gradient colouring
7) Add the actual count value to the data points:
Final visual

@Paul, your explanation could'nt be more clear! It is better than any tutorial . Thank you.
Unfortunately even with the most recent version of PBI (Versione: 2.108.997.0 64-bit (agosto 2022)), the two buttons still remain diabled.
This happens either when I add the visual to my dashboard (attached to SSAS ) or add as new visual to the example (however I can edit the example).
This is quite strange to me since yesterday, experimenting at the beginning with a previous version of PBI, the two buttons was enabled.
Can you tell me when or under which conditions theese buttons are enabled?
This may be because the use of custom visuals such as Charticulator may have been disabled by a tenant admin in the service portal:
For further reference:
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/how-to-govern-power-bi-visuals-inside-your-organization/
So if you are logged in to your PBI account in Desktop and the setting is disabled, you cannot access custom visuals.
You might try logging out of you PBI account in Desktop and see if you can then access custom visuals...
EDIT: I just tried and you need to be logged in to access custom visuals...

Hi @ksivaganesh99 ,
I don't find such a visual in appsource.
As a solution, you could add "ProducerId" to Legend in the scatter chart.
Hi @ksivaganesh99 ,
The standard buble chart does not have this feature.
Try the Dot Plot by Maq Software custom visual:
