Maybe I'm overlooking the capabilities of some of the currently available visuals or I'm trying to use PBI for something it isn't intended to do. Here's the issue.
We have some data that we're trying to expose to users. There's no manipulation of the data, we're just trying to get some data off a whiteboard and onto a display. If we were to start with a Matrix visual, in columns would be "ship date" and in rows would be "driver". In the "values" section of the Matrix (I'll refer to this as Part 2), there would be multiple fields displayed like trailer #, commodity, and delivery city. I've mocked it up in Excel and added a screenshot.
The matrix doesn't allow this or I can't figure out how to get it done. Part 2 can be done in a Multi-row Card but you can't use a visual inside a visual, to my knowledge. I took a look through the custom visuals. Nothing jumped out that would meet the requirements.
Any ideas?

Difficult to say without sample source data, Please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490
However, it seems like you want a customer row hierarchy? So just put your columns in order in the Rows are of the visual.
Thanks for the advice. I've edited the post to include the source data.
Thanks @4660042674 !! Much appreciated.
I was able to do this after unpivoting your three value columns (below). PBIX is attached.
Thank you @Greg_Deckler ! That's much closer than I was getting.
You mentioned you had to unpivot. Where did you do that?
Also, there are two entries for James on Wednesday. Do you know why only one shows?
Hi @4660042674 ,
Go to Home>Transform data:
Choose column Trailer #,Commodity and Delivery City:
Go to "Transform">"Unpivot columns":
Then create a matrix visual as below:
In "format",under Row header, choose: stepped layout :off ,under subtotals, choose Row subtotals : off:
Finally you will see:

Thanks for contributing to the conversation. I noticed that you marked your post as a solution.
Your post is similar to others I got that was close to a solution but not exactly what was needed. If you look closely at your solution, it won't display more than one record for each day and driver. The source data has an example of this.
If I'm mistaken, please let me know. In the meantime, I removed the "solution" tag from your post.
