I have a table in PowerBI = DateTime | DeviceId | Longitude | Latitude
I want to convert the reported longitude and latitude into a User-friendly name.
If the device Lat/long is in the Geofence box then I want to name it Location1 or 2, depending on which box it fits in.
I'm thinking of a "Lookup" table:
If
Device_Longitude > West_Long and Device _Longitude < East_Long
And
Device _Latitude > South_Latitude and Device _Longitude < North_Latitude
Then provide the matching name.
I don't see how I could join to get a cross-reference.
Is there any logic that would allow me to use a table to lookup values between a long/latitude?
I think I could use a switch in Dax but I may have many locations and don't want to hardcode the switch.
Here was my sample Geofence
Descp,West-Long, North_Lat, East-Long, South_Lat
Location1, -117.09892, 32.790678, -117.080209, 32.774514
Location2,-117.13617, 32.789235, -117.12165, 32.776464
Hi @briguin ,
Sorry for replying late. As far as I know, currently it could not support in power bi to meet your requirement.
Perhaps you can submit the requirement to ideas and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
