NaN error in Matrix in Desktop

I have added a new column to a table with the following formula:

Stages Progressed Last 30D Raw = if('Contact Progress Log'[Log_Date__c] >= TODAY()-30, ('Contact Progress Log'[Status] - 'Contact Progress Log'[Previous Status])/( 7 - 'Contact Progress Log'[Previous Status]))

It works fine on a row by row basis in the table. But when I try to show it in a Matrix, aggregated by a dimension, I get NaN. I tried creating a measure that averraged the results, but I still get NaN. What am I doing wrong?

Both of those are numeric fields.

Are they both Integer? Double?

They are both calculated columns. The calculations are the same for both, with the exception of the column they access:

Previous Status = VALUE(LEFT('Contact Progress Log'[Previous_Status__c], 1))

Hello @WelterM,

What is the data type for 'Contact Progress Log'[Status] and 'Contact Progress Log'[Previous Status]?
