NULL value in a dimension table is not allowed when converting direct query mode to import mode.

Tried to convert a Power BI file from direct query mode to import mode, it pops up error complaining one of the columns of a dimension table contain NULL value.

"this is not allowed for columns on the one side of a many-to-one relationship or for columns that are used as the primary key of a table."

But if I create a new desketop file connecting to the same database with import mode, no issue. Anyone has the same issue?

@Anonymous not came across that one before but what it is saying is you have null values for columns that is used as PK in PK FK relation. when is directquery query is executed on your db and not in power bi but since you're changing to import it checks for that violations. when you connect from blank power bi file i doubt it would have created that exact same relation it may have it created but will be inactive. so you need to sort that out.

@ankitpatira the column it complaining against is NOT a PK or FK at all. To require that there is no NULL value on ALL columns on the one-side table is a pure nonsense.

And I imported the same dimension table and a fact table with the same one to more relationship, Power BI has no complaint.
