NBA Injuries Grouping

Hi,

I am trying to create a diagram of the human body with each injury linked to the revelant body part.

Injuries.PNG

The difficulty I am facing at the moment is how to organise the data to achieve this.

One option would be to manually create the groups of the injuries in the fields tab.

For example sore knee , spained knee and surgery on the knee would go together in the knee group.

However this would be time consuming as there are a large number of rows.

Is there a more efficient method to do this?

Thanks in advance

I dont have a solution to offer you but I am definitely interested in seeing your diagram. Any chance on you posting your final result? Maybe provide some insight on how you put it together?

Thanks anyway, I am a Power Bi beginner, so it may be awhile before the diagram is completed.

But when I do , I'll come back and give a write up on the process.

Maybe you can search the key words to create a new column as group.

Group = if(SEARCH("knee",Table1[Column1],1,0)>0,"Knee","Other")

@ryan_mayu

Thanks, I will try that out.

The only issue I can see arising is that some injures contain multiple keywords such as foot and ankle.

Then you need to know which group that one should be and which key word has the high priority. Hope this is helpful. Thanks

group2 = if(SEARCH("foot",Table1[Column1],1,0)>0,"foot",
            if(SEARCH("ankle",Table1[Column1],1,0)>0,"ankle"))
group = if(SEARCH("ankle",Table1[Column1],1,0)>0,"ankle",
            if(SEARCH("foot",Table1[Column1],1,0)>0,"foot"))
