I believe the May 2019 Power BI Desktop inadvertently changed the Credentials in my MySQL datasource from the 'Database' setting (which works) to the 'Windows' setting (which does not). I think Windows is the default.
Before I corrected this, I got the following error message when attempting to connect to that datasource or to refresh datasets coming from that source:
Would it be possible to ensure that in future Desktop settings of this type are retained when the app is updated? Until I found an old post on this I couldn't refresh data on the Desktop, which obviously makes maintenance pretty difficult.
Thanks.
@Anonymous I'm bit surprise that May upgrade has smoething to do with credentials. Were you able to resolve the issue? If yes how?

Hi @parry2k . The only solution I have found is to restore the previous settings in at least one .pbix file.
@Anonymous that is really strange. Interesting, so basically you are saying you cannot make it working in May 2019 even if you have to manually re-enter the credentials?

@parry2k I can re-connect to this MySQL datasource, but to do it I have to manually set the connection back to Database instead of Windows. Once I've done this once, in a single .pbix file, the setting is restored 'globally', i.e., for all files from that moment forward. I'm just saying, this shouldn't be necessary.
@Anonymous understood but it is strange that you have to change/update it for the first time after upgrade.
