Multiple data sources for 1 query, how to handle a newly added column in M?

Hi,

I'm using folder as a source and my problem is that an extra column had been added in my dataset and placed right in the middle of 30 columns. I have a sample dataset that uses 3 excel files listed under name that should illustrate what I'm trying to do. Essentially, values in the red box need to shift 1 column to the right. I want to avoid manually making changes to the data source files themselves as another new column could simply be added again in the future.shift.PNG

The thing with using folder as a data source is that it's depending on the files to be structured EXACTLY the same. You'll need to either manually edit the "old" source or have 2 seperate folders as your source

edit: third option is to do some tweaking in query editor but I would try to avoid that

@Yggdrasill thanks for your reply. I ended up using 2 separate folders as a source as that was a lot more manageable. I used 2 different queries for the 2 separate folders and then appended the "old" source to the "new" source.
