Monthly Target Line Not Displaying Correctly

Hi All,

I have a table called Events which contains Event Number, Event Date, Classification, Severity and a number of other columns.  Events is related to a Date table.   In my Events table i have a measure called RIFR which counts the number of significant events that have been reported and divides this value by the total number of labor hours (labor hours are held in a Labor table also related to the Date table).

I also have a Target Values table.  Each year a new target value is established.  The target value table is related to the Date table, not the Event.  For example, the annual RIFR target for 2018 is 4.7 and for 2019 is 5.5.

I have successfully graphed the monthly RIFR rate, using a year and location filter.  I want to add a monthly target line to show how far above or below a site is on any given year.

The problem:

When i add the Target value to the line, the visual automatically sums the target.  there is no 'do not summerize' option offered at the field level of hte visual.  I've set the 'Default Summation' on the Modelling page to 'Don't Summarize' but it doesn't work.

I'm not sure why it won't show the correct target value and sums it.  I have tried creating a target table with 365 days (all with the same target value).  I've also tried with having a montly target value (Jan 1, 2018 = 4.7, Feb 1, 2018 = 4.7...Dec 1, 2018)...but still, the system sums my target values.

Any help would be really appreciate it.

Hi @Anonymous,

It seems that you have several tables.

Is the monthly target value in your Target table?

You'd better share some screenshot about your visuals so that I can understand your sceanrio better.

If it is convenient, could you share a dummy pbix file which can reproduce the scenario, so that we can help further investigate on it? You can upload it to OneDrive and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.)

Best  Regards,

Cherry
