Month to date

I am using TOTALMTD  function to get Month To date sum of sales in a Sales Table, which is related to my Dates Table via Date _Key.

MTD = TOTALMTD(SUM(SALES_Q_KRAMER[Amount_$]),Date_TBL[Date_KEY])

The problem I am having is that when I create a slicer to give me options for 2015 or 2016, I get blank results for current year, 2016,

when I select 2015, data comes up.

There is data in 2016 in the sales table.

Clearly new to BI, and need some help.

Thanks

Hi,

Which designer do you use (Excel or PowerBI Desktop) ?

Which data type do you use for your Date_Key ?

If you use Excel, make sure you have marked your Dim_Date as "Date table".

If you use PBI Desktop, make sure that you join your fact tables to your Dim_Date by using a date or a datetime column, because in PBI Dektop you cannot mark a table as date.
