I want to show the month over month change as both a value and a %. I've edited the MoM% quick measure DAX to return the value, but the issue is that for the first month it returns the same value as the month (i.e. if January is $100,000 it is showing that as the MoM change) rather than a blank as it does in the MoM% quick measure.
The DAX that I've got:
Actual_Amount MoM =
VAR __PREV_MONTH = CALCULATE(SUM('CAP'[Actual_Amount]), DATEADD('Date'[Date], -1, MONTH))
RETURN
(SUM('CAP'[Actual_Amount]) - __PREV_MONTH)
I've been poking at this long enough to realize that I don't quite get what I'm doing wrong. Anyone willing to school me?

Hi @Anonymous
You may try below measure:
Actual_Amount MoM =
VAR __PREV_MONTH =
CALCULATE ( SUM ( CAP[Actual_Amount] ), DATEADD ( 'Date'[Date], -1, MONTH ) )
RETURN
IF (
ISBLANK ( __PREV_MONTH ),
BLANK (),
SUM ( 'CAP'[Actual_Amount] ) - __PREV_MONTH
)

Cherie
