Hi,
I want to calculate the total closing stock for my customers where not all my customers close in the last day of the month but some before.
I tried creating the below measure, that will pick the last date of the month in which there is data per customer. Problem is in the total in which the customers that didn't close in the last date of the month, are considered as 0.
I can't create columns as I'm connected to SSIS. The below is only sample data.
I created the below measure but not able to see what I'm missing:
Closing Stock =
var x = CALCULATE(MAX('Date'[Date]),FILTER('Date', SUM('Table'[Stock]) <> 0))
var y = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Stock]), 'Date'[Date] = x)
return
y
In the example below,
I want to show my total as 1619 (955 + 664)

One quick fix might be to also write this measure
SumX Customer = Sumx(Values(DataTable[Customer]), [Closing Stock]) // 2nd part needs to be a measure or wrapped in Calculate()
This uses your original measure but calculates it for each customer, then sums those results up.
If this works for you, please mark it as the solution. Kudos are great too. Please let me know if it doesn't or if any questions.

Pat

I was trying to work on SUMX as variable in the closing stock measure and that's why my numbers weren't correct. When creating it in as a seperate measure, it worked.
Why?
This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376
