Hi all,
I have a list of Contracts (Contract ID, Contract Status, Contract Value) in Excel that I update on a monthly basis.
I would like to create a model on PowerBI desktop, where each month I can import this list and monitor in a column chart the evolution of the number of contracts by month.
More into the details, I would like to create a column chart for each of the Contract Status (one chart for the contracts in Draft, one for the Active contracts, one for the Pending contracts etc..) in which the columns would be the months (one column for Jan, one for Feb, etc..) showing the correspondent number of contracts.
Each month after I have imported the new Excel file to PBI, ideally as a new table, a new column corresponding to the new month will be added to the column charts without deleting the data imported in the previous months.
Is there anyone who has a smart solution for this?
Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Hi @Tode,
Each month, after loading data from a new excel file, you can go to Editor Query mode to combine it with the dataset related to previous month. In your report chart, you should drag fields from the combined dataset.
Alternatively, you can place monthly excel files into the same folder, that case, you can connect to Folder rather than separate Excel Files when loading data. Each time, the folder is updated, the data imported into desktop will be updated, too.
