Modeling in PowerBI: Connect two tables ( Building interactive resume )

Hello,

I am a student learning PowerBI by myself. I am on my way to build a resume using PowerBI. My resume dataset has two tables: Skills and Projects.

Table Projects looks like this:

Projects IDProjects NameDescription
01Aabc
02Bxyz

Table Skills currently looks like this:

Skills NameClassificationRelated_Projects_ IDOrder
MSoft skill(Project ID)1
NHard skill(Project ID)2

Then, I met the problem that I have one skill that connects to two or more projects. I tried to add more columns in the table Skills to have more related projects ID, yet it didn't work. Can someone please advise me on this matter?

My desired outcome is that on the dashboard, whenever we choose a skill, PowerBI will show the related project(s) where I got the specific skill(s) and vice versa.

Thank you.

Natalie

Hi @Anonymous ,

Try to create relationship between Related_Projects_ ID column and Projects ID column, and the cross filter direction is "Both".
