Hello,
I am fairly new to Power BI. I have created some shared datasets for some of our analysts to use and published them with proper permissions (I believe). We've noticed that when we try and user Power BI desktop to connect to these shared datasets, the "data" and "model" icons are missing from the left hand navigation. These datasets are using SSAS connections with the Import option rather than live connection. These icons were there when creating the initial datasets but disappear as soon as we try and connect to them once published.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

That is the behavior. Check the "Limitations and Considerations" section in this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-report-lifecycle-datasets

Thank you very much. So even though I created the dataset as an import query, is it still considered a live connection when someone else connects to it or is the limitation more around the fact that it's an SSAS connection? Our users would like to combine a shared SSAS dataset with an Olap datasource in one report if possible. Thanks again.
