Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights with Power BI Issues

Hello All, I recently installed latest Power-BI desktop version on a frsh Windows 10 Machine. It seems Azure Enterprise connector doent exists any more as it has been depricated. I am having lot of PBIX files which reads consumption data from Azure Enterprise connector. Now that, it doesn;t exists any more I need to use new Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights connector. I am having lot of issues and seems loading data is way too slow. I posied all my issues here but no one responded yet. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-connect-azure-consumption-insights. Below is code I used.

let

 enrollmentNumber = "100",

 optionalParameters = [ numberOfMonth = 6, dataType="DetailCharges" ],

 data = MicrosoftAzureConsumptionInsights.Contents(enrollmentNumber, optionalParameters)

 in

 data

1. It took 3 hours to load 2 Months of data. Any wrong in my calling?

2. So every time starting new month, do I need to update numberOfMonth value?

3. What are the other alternative connectors for for this? or How can i install old connector back?

Re: Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights with Power BI Issues

I reverted back to older version of power-bi desktop. It looks Microsoft Azure enterprise connector is removed from December desktop version.Unfortunately I cant use latest versions of BootStrapper. Any help on these highly appreciated.

1. How can i use Microsoft Azure enterprise connector in Dec desktop version?

2. How to use this Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights connector for the data which is more than 2 months..?

3. Using Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights Data is loading very slow. ( My enrollemnt has data since April. It ran for 4 hours and loaded only 2 months)

Re: Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights with Power BI Issues

HI @mrvamsidhar,

Since this connector is still in beta, current I also not found any methods to increase the processing performance.

Maybe you can try to send a feedback to azure team at below link:

New Power BI Connector for Azure Enterprise users

BTW, if connector not suitable for your requirement, you can also try to use odata connector with api to get data:

Re: Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights with Power BI Issues

Hi @mrvamsidhar,

>>Any chance that Microsoft Azure Enterprise connector can be included back?

Since current power bi has the specific connector for these datasource, so I think the old connector will be removed soon.

You can still use previous version to use old connector, but I don't think it will be suitable.(if it has been removed at power bi desktop, service side will also update and remove the support)
