Merge with Left Outer Join shows 0 matched

I was trying to perform merge in Query Editor between a tabled pulled from a Teradata warehous and an Excel file (only one row from each query with ID = 10), but it shows 0 matched even though the data type for these two colums are the same. Do you know what might cause the issue? I also took a look at permission setting for each souce and try to configure it to different levels, but it still shows 0 matched

Hi @Anonymous,

First make sure the data type of the referenced columns are the same. Remove the non-printable characters in these two columns and try to merge again.

Make Sure they are ( totally ) the same by making the desired columns ( Lower or Upper case or Capitalize each word ) in both tables

@v-yulgu-msft,

Thank you. What I discovered was there was an extra space in the Excel sheet, so the joins show no match.
