Hi,
I'm not sure where to begin with what I want to do. I have two tables, of differing structures, but with one column which is the same. I want to combine this column in a seperate table and remove the duplicates:

Table = VAR regis=values(Table1[ID]) VAR app=VALUES(Table2[ID]) return DISTINCT(UNION(regis,app))

Power Query can also achieve your requirement, please refer to steps below:
1. Click query editor-> Merge as new-> select Full Outer.
2. Expand by ID column of application and remove the useless column.
3. The result will be like below:
