Measures and Summarized fields

Hi Experts,

Please help me to understand the difference between these two if there is any,

ΣSales ---- summarized the field

Measure = SUM(Sales) -- new measure created

Hi @Divya904

They are effectively the same.  When you drag the top one to the values area on a visual, Power BI Desktop creates an implicit calculated measure that resembles the bottom one. 

The advantage of the bottom one is that you can extend with clever logic once you need to solve trickier problems
