Measure

Hi!

I have a measure (not a calculated column because I saw it doesn't work to filter the calculated column based on another filed of a different table form the one in which I created that calculated column) and I can't give to a cell a certain value through this function:

IF(MAX(column[Cell])="..."; divide(CALCULATE(sum(...);
filter(rows;...);FILTER(column;...);CALCULATE(...);filter(...)))
by using the measure.

What can I do?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I'm a little confused by your description. Sample data and expected output would help tremendously. Please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly:

Hmm... For example:

If I have the dax measure:

if(rows[cell]="x";1;2) i can see 1 as value of my matrix on row where row[parent]="m"

while if I have:

if(rows[cell]="x";CALCULATE(sum(values[value]);

filter(rows;rows[parent]="fff");FILTER(rows;rows[child]="rrr");
FILTER(columns;columns[parent]="aaaa"))) I see nothing on row[parent]="m"

even if

CALCULATE(sum(values[value]);

filter(rows;rows[parent]="fff");FILTER(rows;rows[child]="rrr");
FILTER(columns;columns[parent]="aaaa")) is giving me the correct number if I put it on a matrix without any rows or columns.

Hi @Anonymous ,

For the formula:

CALCULATE(sum(values[value]);

filter(rows;rows[parent]="fff");FILTER(rows;rows[child]="rrr");

FILTER(columns;columns[parent]="aaaa")),

you applied the condition rows[parent]="fff", so it will return the aggregate value based on rows[parent]="fff", when rows[parent]="m" is placed in the filter context, the measure cannot return an aggregate value based on rows[parent]="fff" and will return nothing, I think this may be the problem.

It doesn't work even if I put the filter only on columns.

I think this is because I then try to filter by another column contained in Values, the year, and I noticed that the calculatedcolumn is shown as a total and not associated to any year of Values table.

I just have to put into a matrix that has a named row which value is blank, a value calculated trough a measure. I have calculated the measure but I'm UNABLE to associate that measure to a specific blank row. I tried if(expression that idetifies the row; function that rapresents the value I want to give to that row), but didn't worked.
