Measure vs calculated columns for data quality

consider below frame

 

I want to be able to create a measure that displays te counts of blanks and non blanks to be used in a pie chart or pivot table .
I've managed to rcraete this easily with a calculated column but looking for best pratices on how to create this as a measure.

catNo
 Yes

dog

No

Hey @giordafrancis 

 

you can create a measure that counts the non blanks like so:

no of non-blank animals =
sumx(
'your table'
, if( not( isblank( 'your table'[animal] ) ), 1 )
) 

A second measure that counts the blanks can look like this.

no of blank animals =
sumx(
'your table'
, if( isblank( 'your table'[animal] ) , 1 )
)

sumx(
'your table'
, if( not( isblank( 'your table'[animal] ) ), 1 )
) 

A second measure that counts the blanks can look like this.

no of blank animals =
sumx(
'your table'
, if( isblank( 'your table'[animal] ) , 1 )
)
