Measure ignoring my dimension & Play axis visual

Hello community!

Sort of new to powerBI, so forgive my ignorance.

My data is 3 tables:

1. Sales data

2. time dimension

3. department dimension

Alle are in a relationship.

i am trying to make a cool dashboard that shows ruinning total devlopment over the year, and i am using the play axis visual for this. Since the play axis visual only selects one date at a time, i have created the flowing measure:

Running total test =

CALCULATE(CALCULATE(
    SUM('Sales YTD'[Revenue]),
    FILTER(ALL('Sales YTD'),'Sales YTD'[PERIODID] <=MAX('Sales YTD'[PERIODID])),
     ALL(DMD_TIME_TAB[PERIODID])))

The reason i created this measure, was so i can get a running totalt regardless of what "PERIODID" the playaxis was on. So basically it shows me a running total on <= the selection in the PLayaxis.

i.e. if the playaxis is on 20190505 the above measure shows me the running total up to and inc. 20190505.

So far so good.

But for some reason the measure above is ignoreing my department dimension, so i cant see the running total on the department dimension - can anybody help me out? 🙂

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous ,

Do you have the relationship among your tables?

If it is convenient, could you share a dummy pbix file which can reproduce the scenario, so that we can help further investigate on it? You can upload it to OneDrive and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.

Best  Regards,

Cherry
