Measure behaving weirdly?

Hi,

I have a simple measure that is working fine when I add it into graph or table, but when I use it in a card, it is showing blank.

Snapshot in the following link https://ibb.co/KGHVVBT

(Sorry didnt know how to attached an image here)

I have other measures, using the same formula and is working fine.. But why this one is not working

Thanks,

Could you possibly provide the dax for the measure?

Here it is

Upside = CALCULATE(SUM('Elbaba breakdown'[Sales LP]), 'Elbaba breakdown'[Category]="UPSIDE")

Hi,

Could you check the datatype for that measure? i.e. make sure it is a Decimal Number with decimal places.

Ans also try selecting the CT column where Upside is not null just to check if the card is working or not.

Hi,

I tried the below formula, still same behavior

Upside = CALCULATE(SUM('Elbaba breakdown'[Sales LP]), FILTER('Elbaba breakdown', 'Elbaba breakdown'[Category]="UPSIDE"))

Datatype is Decimal.. i tried to play with that by changing the decimals, but still the same

Filtering with CT that has the upside, table & chart shows the upside, but the card doesnt.

I created a new measure to make sure nothing has to do with interaction, but still the same

this is really weird S:

If you remove the row dimension from the table it returns blank there aswell right?

Hi,

Try creating a new measure based on you old measure

Upside - Card = IF(ISBLANK('Elbaba Breakdown'[Upside]), 0, 'Elbaba Breakdown'[Upside]).

Upside - Card = IF(ISBLANK('Elbaba Breakdown'[Upside]), 0, 'Elbaba Breakdown'[Upside])

-> didn't work

I tried to re-create exactly the same clustered bar chart which shows the upside. But in the new chart, the upside is not appearing!

I tried refresh, save and exit but all negative!

Could you check if there is any data for the upside column, becuase in the image it has value(0.2) on only one record.

Hi,

there is no visual filters

I have filtered by another quarter (Q4), now you can see 3 CTs showing this upside in the chart and table, but the card is still blank

snapshot here

And finally a hint. I filtered by quarter (Q3).. and now I can see the upside value in the card.

What could that be ??

Guys! I just found out there was a slicer filter that I wasn't taken into consideration. things are fine now.

Thank you very much

Double check so that you dont have any visual level filters that could cause this on your visuals!

From the information you provided there is absolutly no reason as to why this would return blank() in that card. This is really quite strange...

Give this a try and just check if you get the same issue.

Upside = CALCULATE(SUM('Elbaba breakdown'[Sales LP]), FILTER('Elbaba breakdown', 'Elbaba breakdown'[Category]="UPSIDE"))
