Measure Working in Table But Not Matrix

I have the following measure that is calculating correctly if I am displaying the data in a table visualization, but not if I am displaying that data in a Matrix visualization. Wondering if I could get some direction on what I am missing. The measure is as follows:

MinMeasure = CALCULATE(MINA([DateDifference]) , ALLEXCEPT(TableA, TableA[id], TableA[TERM], TableA[DEGREE], TableA[CURRICULUM]))

It looks like it is doing that calculation in the Matrix on the min date in the whole table and not on the context of the min date in the context of ID, TERM, DEGREE, and CURRICULUM.

Thanks in advance for any input.

@rrhutch,

Check if the fields dragged to Rows and Columns are included in ALLEXCEPT.

Yes, that was the problem. So that raises one other question for me. I am looking for that measure to work even if I don't have all of those fields in the Matrix. I was thinking the the ALLEXCEPT would accomplish that, but looks like I was wrong. Any input on how to have the measure calculate based on that context even if the fields aren't being displayed in the visualization?
