Hi everyone,
I've noticed a strange behaviour in Power BI when trying to format a date.
When I use a report (Report A) which is connected live to a Power BI dataset and try to create a new measure in Report A, "Short Date" format doesn't work for that measure.
I've even noticed additional options for the newly created measure, like defining Data Type.
When opening the report (Report B) which contains the dataset which the Report A connects to, the "Short Date" format works fine and I don't get Data Type option.
Is this a bug, please?
Thanks and best regards,
Mihael
Hi @meehael ,
To me it seems is a question about the regional settings, can you check if the regional settings of the file are the same?
Does the original column where you are picking up receipt date on live connection is properly formated (are you getting a date)?
One work around can be to force the formatting using FORMAT option.
Regards

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi Felix,
thank you for your reply.
I get this message when trying to check report's regional settings:
Format function helped if I hard code a format, like "dd.mm.yyyy", thank you.
However, when trying to set the format to "short date", instead, I always get US format, but I've created another topic for that a few minutes ago.
Thanks and best regards,
Mihael
